Earlier this month, the Food and Drug Administration released a highly-anticipated report on BPA, which called for more study to determine the risk, particularly to children. The agency said $30 million in research is under way and offered suggestions for reducing exposure, especially for babies and toddlers drinking from bottles and sippy cups. The studies should be completed within two years, the agency said.

The couple's 3-year-old daughter has been diagnosed with diabetes insipidus, a hormonal disorder that causes excessive thirst. Their 1-year-old son turns pale and aggressive when exposed to plastic. Plastic beats this since plastic containers never heat up in the microwave and they always heat their contents evenly.
