I have a Pure digital Evoke-1xt radio and often use the kitchentimer feature when cooking. Normally I have the radio on in the background and when the timer is 'up' the radio goes off and a bleeping noise comes from radio. For some reason it's not bleeping anymore! Just silence. Any ideas on how to remedy this? Thanks.
Thanks for your responses. I managed to solve the problem myself by 'resetting' the radio settings which more or less sets it to default settings. Anyway it worked. It's a smashing wee radio. I must've pressed something by accident. All is fine with the world again.

Timer functionality is OK, but it would be nice if you could use NiMH battery,currently the most popular form of rechargeable battery. Probably the NiMH nominal 1.2V voltage is insufficient to power the display–but it could. Manufacturer would do well to support it so that they could claim a ‘green’ product. Built-in clock function would also be nice, inexpensive, and simple to implement.
Well I got this delivered to my job today. I’m looking at it right now. First I bought this because of the great reviews that I read here. Also it looked great on my p/c sceen.
In person it looks like a piece of cheap chap! It looks like it will break if you change the battery.
On my p/c it looks like it has black trim in person it has a grayish trim to it. My kitchen is black and stainless steel. So far not worth what I paid for it.
I’ll give you all an up-date when I get home and try it out. Hope that it will at the very least preform better then it looks.
UPDATE April 1st, 2008;
I went home and tried it out. The set up is very easy. The alarm isn’t loud enought for me. I like to watch TV and cook at the same time and I require a kitchen timer that is loud enought for me to hear.
My rating for this kitchen timer is now 4 stars instead of 3 stars since the set up is easy and it has a very strong magnet on the back.
Rating: 3 / 5
I just burned through the second one of these. I stick it to the stainless backsplash up near my hood…as far away from the heat source as possible but wound up with the digital LCD displays failing due to the heat generated by the stove. This may be a problem with all LCD based timers (this is the only one I have used with the stove). However I am a little disappointed and had higher hopes for the device.
Having two timers readily available is a must for me. This is a compact timer, which can be set up on a shelf or put on your refridgerator right out of the box. The most important feature for me, was being able to reset times to zero by a double push of the buttons. My last timer I had to push and hold in the button until it ran through to 99 minutes and then it started over again at zero. An annoying and time consuming process when I needed to go, for example, from 5 minutes to 3 minutes. My life has one less annoyance in it with this handy little timer.
