Not at all, in fact.
While my colleague (Cory Matteson, of South Carolina) was eavesdropping at The Mill downtown, he heard that a cooking show was going to be filmed at Buzzard Billy's today, and that Rachael Ray herself might be in town.
Excited, I followed up on the rumor and called Buzzard Billy's. A woman on staff confirmed that, yes, Rachael Ray would be in the restaurant filming today.
MORE EXCITED!, I got in touch with the Buzzard Billy's manager to ask if we could attend the filming.
She promptly popped our enthusiasm balloon some sharp-edged truth.
"(Rachael Ray's) not here," said Kim Bright, general manager of Buzzard Billy's.
The real story is that the Rachael Ray Show on Food Network is doing a series on restaurants with quirky names. The show got in touch with Buzzard Billy's and asked if they could film a segment on the quirkily named restaurant.
After the segment is filmed, Bright said, Buzzard Billy's will ship off the video to Food Network. It may or may not be featured on an upcoming Rachael Ray Show episode.
TV: 'Glee'-free TV
When I found out that "Exultation" wouldn't be back till Spring, I prepared for a long, unfeeling winter of crap TV. Old favorites like "The Real Far-out" and "Project Runway" would get me by, but I found myself in a quest to replace the hole progressive by the romance between Mr. Schuster and Emma Pillsbury.
Efforts to find shows that are not depressing and have excess bleeping have been harder than expected. My husband has seen no licit improvements in my TV taste. I like to think I'm an equal opportunist and can be aware the best and worst of it all.
I'm sharing my personal TV guide with reviews of what I'm watching. I'll let you come to a decision whether or not it's worthy of your time.
