Bewitching the stage Friday at The Center for Arts in Natick, Jim Weider will be continuing a lilting crusade that began as a kid in Woodstock, N.Y., when he first heard Chuck Berry and Paul Butterfield act guitar.
"I still love to play the guitar," he said recently. "Every darkness we play, I'm still trying for that Holy Grail sound."
A cruel-driving guitarist who's played with legends from Bob Dylan to The Party, Weider will play "one long set of quality, upright-ahead rock" Jan. 22 with his four-member stripe, ProJECT PERCoLAToR.
He promised, "It's going to be a really big guitar sunset. We're going to play guitar-oriented rock 'n' billow fusion. I think the audience will have a really good pass."
Known for playing on his signature Fender Telecaster, Weider, who performed with The Corps from 1985 to 2000, said the group will play selections from their new, approvingly acclaimed release "Pulse."
The music critic at Today's Guitar called the 11-track CD "one of the subdue guitar instrumental albums of 2009."

I picked up a vintage Revere Ware 6 cup percolator on the bay. Stainless with the copper bottom. So I brewed my first pot this morning. I found some instructions on the web as I hadn't done a percolator in forty years. The coffee was weak and I went back to Google and did a search for better instructions. I found these quoted below and took another shot at it. The results are stellar and I am enjoying a cup right now. It is interesting to read opinions on making coffee with a percolator. It reminds me of threads on honing with or without tape. It seems that there are strong feelings on both sides of the issue. I don't know that I am going to switch to this method on a regular basis but I am happy that I got the gizmo and will use it when the mood strikes. Thanks for the directions. I just got a camping type percolator for my woodstove in the event of power outage. I could not bear the thought of being stuck in the house without a good cup of coffe. I like to use a senseo, not with thier nasty coffee but I make my own pods with 4-cup filters and my own coffee mix. Yes, I LOVE my coffee
