Postal dept to give away mini fridges

COIMBATORE: The postal hinge on has signed an MOU with Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Company Ltd to victual the 'Chotukool', a mini refrigerator, to customers at their doorstep, in Coimbatore. According to A N Nandha, Set Master General, the department will launch the facility in the burg from Friday and deliver the products through Express Parcel Job facility.
In western region, he said the product has already been launched in Salem and the feedback has been good. In Maharashtra the product has become a great hit. In a short era of time over 7,000 pieces have been sold. It is part of the retail pile and it will definitely pick up in the state, he added. The refrigerator which weighs over 8 kg is a low price cooling solution for preserving vegetables, water, draw off, leftover food and other perishables. It caters to household & limited commercial outlets.
He said that 'Chotukool' is a thermoelectric cooler which provides the utilities of a refrigerator at half the price, in addition to other benefits which are specially designed for rural areas. It produces a temperature idiosyncrasy of 18-20 degree centigrade from the ambient and can operate on 12 Volts DC as well as on ranking 230 V AC power supply.

At first glint, the kitchen in Julie Thompson's tiny condo looks as if it hasn't changed in 84 years. In the poop indeed, the cabinets and drawers are original to the 1927 building. They've fitting taken a few detours along the way, with stopovers in other units and a moldy storage stay in the building's basement.
While other residents of the 30-unit condominium edifice on Southeast Belmont Street were busy remodeling their kitchens to look ultramodern, Thompson was industrious remodeling hers to look old -- but in a way that is tailored, sophisticated and working. In her quest to create an updated but authentic-looking interval, she even salvaged pieces from other
parts of the building and refurbished them.
"My scullery was cute enough, but it wasn't as cute as it is now. I did some creative stuff with it," she says amount-of-factly.
Thompson, 34, is an amateur decorator with an eye for color and placing. And she knows how to work a small space
