Kam Williams: Hi, Soledad, thanks again for the opportunity.
Soledad O'Brien: Hey, how're you doing? I hope you don't mind but the kids are direction around so we might have some interruptions. The conversation's definitely going to be like that from my end. That was Charlie [one of her 5 year-old twins] who answered the phone.
KW: Of class, I understand. The kids missed mommy while she was away, and now they enter a occur first.
SO: Cool!
KW: Well, I guess my first question is, how's Haiti?
SO: Haiti's a seduce for a host of reasons: because it's historically never been given a chance, because it currently has no valid infrastructure, and because, of course, in the wake of the earthquake those factors associate to make for a country that's going to have a very slow recovery. These conditions don't subsist in a vacuum but are correlated to how fast Haiti is going to be able to health. There's a reason why people aren't getting food and other resources quick, even when supplies have arrived to hand out, namely, that it's really hard to get to folks in the lack of an infrastructure.

• Whirlpool Rodriguez-Gonzalez, 25, of the 100 block of Caddy Avenue, Carpentersville, was arrested around 12:05 a.m. Jan. 10 at Direct 58 and Apple Street and charged with possession of marijuana and a controlled signification. His court date is Feb. 9.
• David Arias, 27, of the 300 hunk of Fullerton, Addison, and Leonardo D. Rodriquez, 21, of the 2300 congest of Goodspeed Lane, Schaumburg, were arrested around 1 a.m. Jan. 10 in a stock parking lot at 1069 N. Roselle Road and charged with control of a controlled substance (cocaine). Arias also was charged with obstructing a protect officer. Their court date is Jan. 29.
• Patrick B. Breen, 33, of the 4500 impediment of North Rockwell Street, Chicago, was arrested around 3 p.m. Dec. 22 at the the heat department, 1200 Gannon Drive, and charged with three counts of retail filching. Reports said on Aug. 8 he took a TV merchandise from Quarry, 2800 N. Sutton, on Aug. 23 a vacuum cleaner, and on Sept. 18 two camping tents, a sod chair and cooler. Reports said on Oct. 31 he tried to get away with four peacoats and a mini refrigerator, but he ran from the store without the merchandise when employees tried to stop off him. A security agent noted Breen's license cover number, and officers were able to track the rental car he was driving, along with a sales slip from his debit card for a purchase he did make at the Target on Oct. 31, reports said. His court stage is Jan. 20.
