Board votes to extend contract for superintendent by five years

CAMP POINT, Ill. -- The Central Disciples Board recently voted to extend the contract of Overseer Martin Cook for five more years.
Cook will get a 3 percent cultivate to $108,000 next year.
"It's a nice feeling," Cook said. "I'm both humbled and delighted."
The board also named Rusty Mixer to fill the School Surface seat vacated by Bob Tangerose and appointed Mixer to help on the Building Committee.
Tangerose resigned in December to fix for the position of maintenance supervisor. He was appointed to the post at $34,000 a year.
The meals agreed to let bids for lawn mowing and a bus.
"This is the year we seeing the restraint affect our spending," Cook said. "The state is so far behind; we're being watchful."
The district would normally have let bids to buy five buses, he said. However, the federal is behind $335,000 in its payments to the district. The district does not want to get about $87,000 of that which it is owed for transportation reimbursement.
