The godly news was that the repair would be free. It was covered under our extended promise, and I wouldn't have to lift a finger.
It's rare for us to purchase such a promise, but we did this time not only because it was relatively inexpensive, but because it's not uncommon for costly compressors to give out after only a few years. The compressor is a key component in refrigerators and freezers that moves coolant through the coils.
