Excalibur!?
i have a assignment from school to write a autobiography on the sword Excalibur. please give me some ideas on how to begin the biography. give me the begining sentences and then help me introduce myself as excalibur-the most famous legendary sword. help me introduce to the reader how i was obtained by Arthur (either by lady shalott or from the rock).....then all the battles i won and then give me a sentence to conclude the story (eg- i am in museum or avalon now?)
I think you should give yourself more credit.
You've already done a good job, just in your explanation here.
So using what you have as a jumping point, here you go:
"Allow me to introduce myself. I am one of the few swords that has ever been named, and I am probably the most famous of all. I am Excalibur. You probably think I'm just legendary. But as someone, once said, "I think therefore, I am." I'm real. I don't remember my birth...
My first conscious thought was when I was placed in the rock...
I remember different men trying to pull me from the rock... Some fat, some strong, some skinny. let me tell you about one time...
And I waited.... I thought I might be in that rock forever.
Then one day, this boy came along. What a pipsqueak he was! I didn't think there was a chance he'd be able to pulled the sword. So I felt his small sweaty palm on my handle, and I waited for him to let go in failure, but then the next thing I knew I felt the cool breeze on my blade. I was finally free...
Today, I sit in a glass case. I hear people tell stories about me. Some true, some not. Come visit me here in the musuem. I'd love to tell you about them.
And so I wait again. Wondering if ever again there will be another Arthur. Of course in these days, swords aren't used very much. So I know I'd be much more of a symbol. But that's OK. The fight for what is right and just never ends...
